Mid-Day Program

You’re With Us! has implemented the Mid-Day program in both Boston and North Shore regions. It is a new program for us and we started on-campus programming at a number of college campuses. So far this program has initiated several activities with high-school transition programs. We facilitate activities based on personal needs, interests, and paces to learn, while at the same time forming a community for individuals to be more adaptive to group work. We envision this program to be broader and more vibrant, with more participants to join.

Mid-Day Program in the North Shore region

In the mid-day of school, when most students choose to take a break from studying, the You’re With Us! North Shore team takes our participants to colleges and re-set for the rest of the day. After having lunch together, participants will be separated into groups based on interests, and meet with peer mentors or groups on campus. Participants attend art therapy, work out in the gym, go hiking, take a walk in the college community, and play with college service dogs. There are picnic days when the friends enjoy toasted marshmallows by the river, field days when the crowd enjoys the scenery, sounds, and aroma of nature, and college classroom days when our students sit with other college students and listen to lectures.

Mid-Day Program in Boston region

You’re With Us! implemented the Mid-Day Program in the Boston region in the spring of 2023, with the same purpose of facilitating campus outings for high school special education students. People gather at the campus, have lunch together and take campus tours with college students.

I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to help start the Campus Outing Day Program in Boston. The program provides an amazing opportunity for high school special education students to spend time with our college mentors and participate in engaging activities in a real college environment. It is so important for these students to have access to various opportunities in our Boston community, and equally important for our mentors to meet new people and broaden their perspectives through the meaningful friendships that result from this program.
